Would your family know what to do if something happened to you?
FamilyKeep makes sure they do.
Free for 30 days. Plans from $4/month.
Most families have no plan. They won't realize it until it's too late.
One person holds everything in their head. When they're not around, loved ones are left scrambling—at the worst possible time.
When something happens, families can't find:
- Life insurance policies
- Account logins
- Recurring bills
- Mortgage information
- Emergency contacts
- Important documents
FamilyKeep solves this by organizing everything in one secure place.

Why I built FamilyKeep
When my wife and I were expecting our second child, I realized I manage most of our finances — insurance, accounts, bills. If something happened to me, would she know where everything was?
So I built a giant spreadsheet with everything in it.
It worked… kind of. But it also made me realize spreadsheets aren't really built for this.
That's why I created FamilyKeep — a simple place for families to organize the information that really matters.

Frequently asked questions
Security, access, billing, and how FamilyKeep works.
Yes. Your documents are stored encrypted at rest (AES-256) in a private bucket. Every upload, download, and delete goes through our backend—only authenticated household members can access files. We never store passwords or full account credentials.
Only people you invite to your household can see that household's data. You choose each member's role (Owner, Co-Owner, Trustee, Emergency, or View-Only). There is no public access; every action is checked against membership. You can remove members at any time from the Members page.
Scenarios (e.g. death, incapacity, temporary absence) are pre-built plans with instructions and checklists. Activating a scenario notifies chosen family members and can temporarily expand their access (role escalation) so they can help. Activation can be reversed (deactivated) by an owner or co-owner.
Owner: full control, including deleting the household. Co-Owner: can manage assets and documents but cannot delete the household. Trustee: can view and edit assets and documents; cannot manage members. Emergency: limited access until a scenario is activated. View-Only: read-only access.
One subscription covers one household you own ($5/month or $49/year). There's a 30-day free trial with no charge until the trial ends. You can be a co-owner in other households—the owner of each household pays for that household's subscription.
From the household Members page, create an invitation (you can optionally enter an email). You'll get a link to share; invitees sign up or sign in and accept. Invitations expire after 7 days. You can also send the link by email from the app.
When you upload a new version of a document, the previous version is kept for 90 days. We email you 7 days before an old version is removed so you can download it if needed. The current version is never auto-removed.
No. We store descriptions of assets (e.g. "checking account at X Bank"), documents you upload, beneficiaries, and scenario instructions. We do not store passwords, SSNs, or full account credentials.
Yes. You can own one household (your subscription) and be a co-owner or other role in other households (their owner pays). Each household's data is strictly isolated—you only see data for the household you're currently viewing.
Yes. Actions such as logins, document uploads and downloads, scenario activations, and member changes are logged per household. Owners and co-owners can view the audit log in the app.
